Product Overview
The HR5 and HR6 series fuse-type isolation switch is designed for AC 50/60Hz low-voltage power distribution systems with rated thermal current up to 630A. It is suitable for circuits with high short-circuit current and for motor circuits where dependable power isolation and fuse protection are required.
The device can be used as a power switch, isolating switch and emergency switch in distribution cabinets. It provides fuse-based fault protection and clear manual operation, while the product information notes that it is not intended for direct starting of a single motor.

Normal Working Conditions
- Installation altitude should not exceed 1000m.
- Ambient temperature should not be higher than +40C and not lower than -5C.
- The installation medium should be free from explosion risk, corrosive gases, conductive dust and severe insulation-damaging substances.
- The monthly average maximum relative humidity should be 95%, with monthly average minimum temperature of +25C.
- The installation location should be free from severe vibration and direct snow or rain exposure.
Structure and Maintenance Notes
The switch consists of a base, cover, arc chamber and contact system. Static contacts are mounted on the base, while the cover can rotate along the support to create enough isolation distance. The arc chamber can be removed conveniently from the base, which supports easier installation and fuse replacement.
- Install the switch vertically before putting it into normal operation.
- Use compatible NT fuse links or other fuse links that meet IEC 269 requirements and the required short-circuit breaking capacity.
- For fuse replacement, open the cover fully and remove the operated fuse link from the elastic contact below the cover.
- Check contacts regularly and remove dust, oil and other contamination.
- Lubricate friction points of the operating mechanism regularly to maintain flexible operation and service life.
Typical Applications
- Low-voltage distribution cabinets and switchboards
- Motor circuit power isolation and fuse protection
- Emergency switching positions in industrial power systems
- Feeder protection in commercial and industrial distribution networks
- Power supply disconnection for maintenance and inspection
- Circuits requiring visible manual isolation and fuse-based protection
Installation and Selection Notes
Select the model according to rated thermal current, pole number, fuse link rating, auxiliary contact requirement and installation environment. The selected fuse link should match the circuit protection requirement and the available short-circuit current.
- Confirm the rated current of the switch and the fuse link before ordering.
- Specify whether a fuse indicator or auxiliary contact is required.
- Verify mounting dimensions and wiring clearance before cabinet production.
- Installation and maintenance should be carried out by qualified electrical personnel.
Why Choose HR5 / HR6 Series
The HR5 and HR6 series gives panel builders a practical combination of fuse protection, manual isolation and emergency switching in one compact product. Its molded insulating structure, removable arc chamber and replaceable fuse-link design make it suitable for dependable low-voltage distribution projects.
